Where the Heart Is

An image of Bufraeva, a god with multiple black wings and long, flowing hair, lurks in the background of this page. All panels are overlaid on top of it.

Ísja hurriedly begins to untie the ropes that are binding Num's hands. Meanwhile, the Courier spreads the wings of the raven they've trapped only to fold them inward.

THE COURIER: IT'S SAID THAT HE HAD SIX GREAT, BLACK WINGS AND TALONS CAPABLE OF RENDING THE HEAVENS AND STEALING THE SKY ITSELF.

A myriad of people seen from a distance stare up at a fully empty and black sky.

THE COURIER: HE DID SO AT THE END OF THE WORLD, CASTING THE EARTH INTO DARKNESS. AT SOME POINT, HE TORE THE FEATHERS FROM HIS WINGS AND CASTED THEM TO EARTH, WHERE THEY BECAME RAVENS.

Num's hands have been freed. He takes a moment to scratch the dried mud off his face while Marino and the other cultists watch the Courier nervously.

MARINO: That raven... What're they doing to it?

The Courier folds the raven in half as though it were made of paper.
