num, that's kind of a low bar, don't you think?

Ísja looks over his shoulder at Num.
ÍSJA: How're your hands? Mud still frozen on?
NUM: The mud's off, thankfully. They really tied my hands tight, though.
Num's hands are bound tightly with rope.
NUM: I can't even move my fingers.
Ísja frowns.
ÍSJA: So, no magic.
NUM: Nope.
Both boys startle as Lani begins to speak.
LANI: Even if you could use magic, I'm not sure it'd do us much good. I don't see how ice spikes could be helpful here.
Lani looks rather troubled and anxious.
LANI: Face it: we're stuck.
Ísja beams at the sound of Lani's voice.
ÍSJA: Oh, good! You're okay too!
Lani frowns.
LANI: "Okay" is a bit of a stretfch. We're in a room they never let us enter when we were here–I'd recognize this stench anywhere. All my stuff got tossed who knows where and I got humiliated. To top it all off, Marino talked about punishing me, and I have no clue what that's gonna look like.
Lani's shoulders slump.
LANI: So no, I'm not "okay".
NUM: At least you're alive.
LANI: I guess.
