Marino claps her hands together lightly and tilts her head.
MARINO: Well? What's the reason? Enlighten me.
Lani continues to look elsewhere. The rest of the room stares at her, waiting for her to answer.
LANI: I left.
Lani shuts her eyes, then continues to speak. The cultists seem relatively unphased (though, who's to say what's going on under their masks?) while Ísja and Num listen with wide eyes.
LANI: It was wrong of me to leave the Church back then, but I'm ready to atone now, whatever that may mean. I'm sorry.
